Wedding Photography: Matt & Nikki

Details

Matt was the first person to ask me to photograph his wedding (outside my own family), so his request kind of set me down the path of wedding photography…something I wasn’t sure I’d ever do. I’m so glad he asked though because I’ve discovered something I really love doing. Matt & Nikki’s wedding was beautiful, they have a musical and creative family and friends so it was full of special touches. I think I’m going to do this in two parts…just because the reception deserves a post all of its own.

The ceremony took place in The Orchard Centre in Tinahely, in a fabulous round room with a huge fireplace and a high ceiling that made it intimate but still with something of a church feel:

Wow. Excellent photos, love the fact they are mostly candid shots, not the usual fare of posed stuff (did you do those as well, you know, for the aunties? 😉 ).

Brilliant stuff. So good I’m looking forward to seeing the next lot tomorrow (and that’s the first time I’ve EVER said that about wedding photos!).

Claire,
Fabulous photos of the wedding, the couple must be very pleased with them. Hope the day wasn’t too nerve-wracking (I’ve shot weddings years ago and still remember the pressure).
The new lick of paint for the blog looks great too, very fresh. Must get to doing my own sometime soon… A cobblers kids eh?

Cheers.

Thanks everyone.

@Matt: LOL!

@Gordon, yep, I do the formal ones for the aunties but I do them FAST and I don’t do many. I prefer the candid ones too.

@Stewart, Congratulations…if you need a wedding photographer… 😉

@Davy, it’s always a little bit scary beforehand, there are definite butterflies especially just before the ceremony. Once I’m in the thick of it though I tend to forget about the nerves thank goodness.

@Nikki You’re so very welcome!
