I was out around O’Connell Street during my lunch hour yesterday looking for Paddy’s Day stuff to photograph when I spotted a mass of bright green feathers heading towards South Earl Street. I decided to follow and found these two girls having their picture taken. The photographer managed to rope this slightly embarrassed looking Garda into the shot and he was a really good sport about it. Particularly since one of his colleagues was obviously relishing every minute of it:

Expect to see a bit more of the green here over the next few days, there’s just so many great opportunities for photographs around Dublin this weekend.

Great shots though, and I’m looking forward to the weekend too. It’s been a couple of years since I took St. Patrick’s Day photos so I have my fingers crossed for good weather.

I had to laugh at Donncha’s comment. Between this and the Garda prank call episode you would wonder how long it will be before you get a tip on the shoulder some day! Just kidding, everyone knows good old fashioned fun when they see it!

I loved how these Gards were such good sports about it all, they obviously didn’t realise they were accessories to a crime! 😉
What a great expression on the Gardas face to have captured, he looks like the cat who got the cream! I doubt he would have noticed any crime within his vicinity, cunning distraction mechanism!
I have a Garda shot I must post sometime this week. It shows two gardai talking to a two immigrants, possibly Romanians, one a child who had been playing the accordian on the street, and the other an adult man. Unfortunately I only had a wide angle camera but I think with a little cropping I’ll get a post out of it 🙂
