Paige was mourning how some of her (and my) favourite blogs have gone a bit quiet of late and I spotted a familiar name in her comments. Colm and Cahony of the late, great InFactAh are blogging once more, this time they’re calling themselves Modern Cadence (very posh indeed!), there’s even talk of a podcast. It’s good to have you back with us lads, you’ve been missed!

Good Times
Lots going on in my life at the moment…hence the lack of blog updates…here are some subjects I’ve been meaning to blog about:
– I’m involved in trying to set up a new school in the Greystones area (this one I will be posting about soon).
– I’ve started teaching animation for a few hours a week in the IADT in Dun Laoghaire. I’m loving it!
– (I have a hard time actually saying this next one. It’s just like when I go to open a bank account and I’m asked what I do for a living, I get all embarrassed saying “I’m an artist” like it’s actually coming out, “I’m an ahhhh-tist dahling”) I have a new photography business. In the past few months I’ve been having a great time shooting businesses, products and people as well as events and family portrait sessions. And it’s all because of this blog!
– The computer game, Sega Superstars Tennis, I’ve been animating on since May wrapped up and will be released early next year. I can’t wait to play it myself, the animation was so much fun, plus I think the level artists did a fantastic job on the locations:

Free Canon DSLR Service
Just spotted this on the Irish Photographers website. Image Supply Systems on Camden Row in Dublin are having an open service clinic for Canon DSLRs of all stripes. So that’s 350Ds to 1Ds. You just drop your camera into them and they will service it for you free of charge! Pretty nifty. It’s running until tomorrow so I don’t know if I’ll get in there but it would be perfect for anyone working in town.

Some more from my time with Fiona, John and James over the weekend. James was a star! At first he was a bit shy with me and didn’t quite know what to make of the strange lady with the camera. Once we brought him down to the sea and he started to throw rocks into the water though he was in his element and he gave me some great shots. He’s really photogenic and I had a hard time choosing my favourites to blog. Here are just a few and of course there are more on Flickr.

So what did you do this weekend? I got to take photographs of this gorgeous family 🙂
They’re both bloggers and you should definitely check them out. Fiona blogs at The Waiting Game and John at Stuff, Wotsits and Thingies. They are both excellent writers so go, now, add them to your RSS feed!

They kindly allowed me to walk the socks off them along Greystones beach. The conditions were perfect for photography (overcast) and I hope they had as much fun as I did. Thanks guys!

There are more on Flickr and I’ve saved a few more for tomorrow.
