Are you as sick of this rain and fog and darkness as I am? I’m so ready for spring to arrive. I have beautiful winter weddings I could be posting but I was going back over some of my summer weddings from last year and just seeing the golden sunshine and the flowers and the green cheered me up no end so I thought I’d spread the cheer. This is Amy and Conchuir’s wedding from a breezy warm weekend in July. (Aoife, who did the make up, was telling us how she was stepping back from it to concentrate on her new business The Bridal Lounge and this week not only did she win Bridal Make Up of the year at the Weddings Online Awards but The Bridal Lounge also picked up the Best Supplier Website! Congratulations Aoife and Deirdre.)
I only pulled the couple away from their guests for 15 minutes because it would have been mean to take any longer, thankfully we only had to go a few steps away to find a pocket of pretty light by the mill:
And as for the reception venue, well the Millhouse in Slane is more like a house in Provence, billowing lavender and everything. The House itself is modern and swish so it’s a mix of old and new. Amy and Conchuir’s details were wonderful, from the Battle of the Boyne centrepieces to the beer in the bathtub outside, I was spoilt.
Ahhh, I think I feel a bit warmer now!

Excellent shots. I so want a bath in my garden for the exact same use! Favourite shot is the two in the window smiling – superb!
Yes time for summer weddings! So great to see some more weddings from you! I always love your photos Claire!
lovely shots, nice and natural looking.
Can I ask what lenses you shot with, espically the first one of them by the mill?
Really like the beer bottles in the bath!
Cheers,
Pa.
Thanks guys, and congratulations to you too Christina on your awards, not that it was any surprise, I knew you’d clean up!
Pa, I believe that was taken with my Sigma 50mm 2.8, I use that lens probably 85% of the time. My other regulars are a Canon 28mm 1.8 and my trusty Canon 17-40mm f4.

Simple and elegant, this is the perfect wedding in my vision. Like the details, everything looks perfect.
Love the images of this wedding, so pretty. Church looks so cute and couple look great. Nice job.
Fantastic photographs! It was a great day for guests, we were spoilt.

Gorgeous photos Claire, we’re getting married next year and the reception area look fab, where is it?
Many thanks!!
Hi Ali, the reception was in Slane at the Millhouse, it’s a fantastic venue especially for a small intimate wedding. Good luck!
Great shots. I shot a wedding once and swore I’d never do it again. There was far too much pressure, and I can’t recall when I had to work so hard either!
super pictures, the black and white ones are really gorgeous! well done.
