First day of school today, lots of children going back to school, and Educate Together Greystones opened its doors for the very first time. I got to play fly on the wall for a little while and document the day.

Awwwww! Well done to Educate Together Greystones and all who sail in her!
Lovely work. I especially like the first photo. I love the inclusion of the door as a frame, the light, and how Dora and the monkey have their hands up too!
Looking back over your blog, it’s amazing how quick it seemed for getting the school up and running. May 07 – Sept 08 Well done!
@Suzy: Thanks!
@Latchiko: Haha…oh yea, I hadn’t spotted that…er, I mean, yes, I totally planned the shot that way ๐
@d@Ve: Still pinching myself.
Wow, School for Ireland’s Next Top Models? Is that Eve in the pink outfit?
I am so happy for you. Heres to achieving and exceeding expectations.
xx
Hi Hammie, thanks! No, that’s not Eve, much to her disappointment won’t start at the school until next year ๐
Oh god! School propaganda, they’re so gorgeous! The first one really hits home alright!
Like Latchiko-I love the first one. It’s a really beautiful shot.
What utterly beautiful photos! ๐
Gorgeous photos! Vignetting really draws the attention in a nice subtle way doesn’t it? ๐
Your work is wonderful. I loved every photo I looked at. You are truly gifted.

beautifully taken ๐ my photography skills are really horrible ๐
Such wonderful pictures! I wish I could take photos like that. ๐
I love these photos – the colours are beautiful!
Geez Claire…it’s uncanny how fast you got that school built and opened. Well done to you and all involved. These shots are brilliant – so imaginative and full of mood with a touch of mystery.
Wow, just have to say congratulations on the achievement with the school.
Seriously impressive.
I really love candid shots of people doing their every day routine. It really makes the picture speak 1000 words. Excellent work!
Well done! And gorgeous pictures!
A wonderful documentary series. I hope you consider publishing more from that day. My daughter Grace will start school in two years and I look forward to showing your photos to her when the time is right. For some reason I can’t fathom I’m reminded of documentary photographs by Jean Mohr (with words by John Berger) I’ve missed the lead up, the whole story of the school, but I must find out more.
Delighted to see this happen. (here, finally, via John B) . Congrats to all involved Claire, and beautiful photos, as always!
