It’s been a while coming but I’m so happy to show some of the photographs from the wedding I shot in New York this summer. I loved New York and I loved this wedding, it’s one of the highlights of my year and I still can’t believe I got to go all the way to New York to shoot a wedding. The bride and groom were married in the Lotos Club right beside Central Park and the bride and her bridesmaids all got ready in the bridal suite. The bride wore a gorgeous deep blue double dress with a rose and lavender bouquet:
The groom’s daughter and the bride’s nieces made up the bridal party and they were great fun, there was lots of laughs and gossip and buzz in the room while everyone got ready:
…and some fab shoes:
The bride rehearsed her vows to the girls and had everyone in tears including me behind the camera:
The ceremony was so simple and intimate and they incorporated traditions and readings that were very personal to them including the Jewish tradition of the breaking of the glass. A close friend of the bride and groom was ordained online just so she could officiate their wedding:
The ceremony was in the late afternoon and afterwards we had about 20 minutes to catch the sun before it set, with Central Park literally across the road we took a walk over there for a few photos:
While the guests mingled in the library I slipped in to the dining room to take some photos of the tables all laid out. I loved the books wrapped in ribbons and there were photos of their travels in Ireland on each table:
The library made me want to snuggle down in a big chair by the fire and read:
To the bride and groom: Thanks for letting me share these and thank you so much for inviting me to come over and capture your day. Your encouragement over the years has meant a lot and I can honestly say I wouldn’t be a photographer today if it wasn’t for a certain conversation down on Dublin’s Docklands about 3 years ago!

Nice work!
Finally the long awaited NY wedding! Wow the reception is fabulous! I love the light in the photos in the park. Awesome work!
Beautifully shot Claire, the mood captured in an intimate way. Nice play on light and shade throughout. Looks like a lovely wedding in a beautiful City that I have yet to visit…
Claire,
Beautiful work!
Particularly love that shot with the sunflare on the right, tricky to get that to work.
Also love that last casual shot of the couple sitting down.
Great work, as always – am also madly envious of your NY trip too. Deffo on my to-do list.
Hi
Wonderful shots. Love the shoes hanging on the door. And the colour of her dress is beautiful in the park. Makes me want to get married all over again.
Pauline
What a beautiful wedding and you captured it so well! I love the photos of the girls getting ready, so much emotion! Love the sun flare shot too.
These are so beautiful. The couple seem to have such a lovely atmosphere about them which you’ve captured perfectly. Gorgeous.

Hi Claire, I just dropped by and was wowed by this work. Stunning photography, captured the mood perfectly without a formal typical boring wedding feel. I love it all – especially the informal shots, they all emit honest, spontaneous feelings full of beauty and drama. Great use of perspective, focus and light. The last one is really brilliant, a true work of art. All are emotional treasures for eternity – as all quality photography should aspire to. You are getting better and better – I would truly consider you one of the World’s really great photographers.
Ciao Claire,
Beautiful images, a joy to browse, keep up the great work, your clients are lucky!
Best,
Conor.
