The House On The Hill II

Fox House

I took the photograph above just as we were about to leave. We were starting to feel a bit paranoid hearing dogs barking and watching for someone to appear and chase us off. I was sorry to go because I had only just started to explore the dairy and the stables that adjoined the house. They weren’t so spooky but it was like they’d been frozen in time:

These are great – I’ve left comments on your Flickr.

There was a spooky big house in Wexford called Loftus Hall near Hook Head which we visited about 10 years ago. There was also a TV documentary on it – all sorts of stories of paranormal and evil.

Personally, I couldn’t live in an old house. Some of my pals live in Edwardian or Victorian houses and there are usually some odd creepy stories or weird sounds. They call it the house having “character”!!

You’re lucky to have someone to explore it with you… I remember all too well exploring an abandoned hotel (that’s since been demolished) in Cork on my own. I lost count of the amount of times I came within nanoseconds of soiling my pantaloons when I thought I’d seen something out of the corner of my eye. Even thinking about it now makes me shiver.

Also lost count of the amount of credit card numbers I managed to collect ๐Ÿ˜€

Hi Claire,
I just came across your blog via photoblogs.org and I am really impressed with your photos, especially these House on the Hill ones รขโ‚ฌโ€ the colours are great. I will add a link on my website if that’s OK

Really!? The only information I could get on it was that it last belonged to a family called Fox, and that was about it. I hope your Mum is right because that would just be the icing on the cake ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for that Neil!

Hi One Way, of course a link would be OK ๐Ÿ™‚

I just had a quick look through your blog and I have to say I really like your photographs. I’m going to have to go back for a better look.
