Yesterday Mary Harney announced the decision to halt the provision of the HPV vaccination to girls aged 12 years, a reversal of a decision made last August. This vaccine has the potential to prevent cervical cancer. I believe this is a mistake and this morning a listener on the Ray D’Arcy show suggested a way to let Mary Harney know what we thought: what if we all sent emails to the Minister with photos of their daughters expressing our dismay over this decision to deny these girls a vaccine which may prevent them getting cervical cancer in later years?
The Ray D’Arcy show has a link where you can send an email directly and it will only take a second. You can do it here: Today FM. Or if you’d like to send a photo of your daughter, the address is minister’s_office@health.irlgov.ie

WOW. It has been so long without a peep. Marci and I were actually wondering about you last night. Eve is soooo beautiful and quite the poser!
I know! I’ve been very bad. Things are finally returning to a normal level of chaos so I just need to get back in the habit of blogging.
See is just beautiful!
Thanks for this Claire, and the pics are great. She is getting so grown up!
Hi! there,
I’ve linked to your site to help drive home the message to Harney.
Thanks for letting us meet Eve, she’s adorable!
Lovely Photos, hope they do their part to force Harney to re-reverse the decision.
Nice hat, is Eve getting involved in Scouts?
Hi Neil, the hat she’s wearing is her Daddy’s old cub scout hat from when he was only a little bit older than her.
Yeah, thought it looked vintage.
Hope she does get into it. I’ve been involved in Scouting for 14 years now, and as cheesy as it sounds, it’s made me the person I am now.
Welcome back. Great to see you again. I’ll join in too, tomorrow. Well said. Well shot.
I sent an email to Claire S Wilson, an illustrator, thinking I was sending it to you. Do you often get mixed up with her?
Hi Omani, it’s great to have you back too. I’ve been mistaken for a Claire Wilson who owns a hat shop in England but not Claire S Wilson the illustrator. This never happened to me before I got married…I knew I should have kept my maiden name 😀
This is a fantastic blog entry and I cannot think of a better way to make a point.
You need never worry about the quantity of what goes into you blog, its quality always makes it great to visit.
