I’m only now crawling from my bed after last night’s festivities. Not because of a hangover…nope, not me…I’m a victim of too much cold medicine. I was feeling pretty bad but there was no way I was going to miss the party last night so I’m still quite groggy this morning. I’m guessing I’m probably not the only one though.

It was a great night, Damien and all the organisers did a fantastic job and well done to Bernie Goldbach for handing over his Best Contribution To The Irish Blogosphere to Damien. The full list of winners is up here. Gingerpixel didn’t get any awards this year but it was so much fun to be a nominee; it gives the night a little bit more of a buzz I think and I was in very good company. I was particularly happy to see Redmum and InfactAh heading up to the podium to collect their awards and sorry that Letter To America missed out again. Jett and Wayne’s podcast gets me through many long work days and I regularly embarrass myself by laughing out loud while listening to it.

The best part of course is getting to put names to faces and meet up again with the regulars. Roll on 2008!

Just one more day until the Blog Awards and it seems like you can’t get away from us bloggers! The Irish Times, Tubridy, Today FM, the Metro all had pieces on blogging in the last couple of days and tonight there will be a few of us on the Six One news on RTE 1. The girls from Beaut.ie, Damien Mulley and myself were all interviewed about our webpages and the awards and we’ll be on the news this evening.

Brown Bag, where I’m working at the moment, were great sports and said we could have my interview in the studio during my lunch hour and I have to admit I was pretty nervous…I just hope RTE cut out the part where I said I was an amateur photographist!

The short-list for the Irish Blog Awards has been posted and I’m chuffed to say that Gingerpixel has made it through in each of the four categories it was up for! I promise I’m not going to come over all Gwyneth Paltrow but thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for me. If this is as far as I get (and the standards are really high so that’s a very likely outcome) then I won’t mind a bit. Congratulations to all the other nominees and hard luck to those who missed out, including some of my own personal favourites. As Jett Loe would say…”Shafted!” 😉

Thank you Damien and your helpers for what must have been a fair few sleepness nights putting it all together.

All that’s left now to do is look forward to the big night.
