The happy horse from Monday’s post wasn’t alone in his field. This mare was also there keeping watch over her sleeping foal.

Great shots – but from that angle it looks like the fattest horse in the universe!
Second one looks sad, if you hadn’t said the foal was sleeping I’d have thought it was dead. Still lovely shots, as always 🙂
Both brilliant captures. The first one shows the horse as very pensive and the second is wonderful with all that great depth from using 17mm focal length. The side effect of the big wide angle and shooting point – as John B noticed – is the horse looks fat, but I’m sure she will get over the insult – and I see you have the shots private for Flickr viewers anyway 🙂
Thanks!
JohnB: I think the mare was pregnant, at least she was pretty fat from whatever angle 😀
Declan: I thought the foal was dead too when I was walking towards the field. I was very relieved to see him moving.
John: I didn’t want them to appear on Flickr before the blog post was due to post so I made them temporarily private. They’re public now 🙂
