Really great photos.. top one makes me feel like I’m another cat, or about to be pounced on !
Oh they’re lovely, the first particularly – full of divilment!
They’re just brilliant π Love the expression on his face!
Hi Claire. I’ve commented on both these wonderful shots in your Flickr but just to also say that it is a lovely cat that you have and Eve must get great fun from him/her.
I suspect that ryan’s suggestion on more contrast is to do with bringing out the cat’s nice coat details more, but unless you can do that selectively it could do harm to the surroundings which are perfect. Anyway, I prefer it naturally the way it is, his coat looks soft and warm. Great work, it’s not easy to capture moving animals so well.
Ryan: Thanks for that, I think my mistake started in the camera when I overexposed the first one, I upped the contrast a little but I can see where it probably needs a little more work on the details of her face. OH and meme to follow π
CA, Katherine and Donncha: Thank you!
John: She is a lovely cat and Eve does get a lot of fun out of her although I’m not sure that that’s a two-way street. She’s extremely patient though so any scratches are well deserved π
[…] a ferocious looking cat you have there […]
Great photographs. You’ve got a great eye and really seem to understand the best perspective from which to photograph your subject.
Terrific stuff. I must get you to come over and create portraits of my two feline fellas (both of whom are asleep beside me as I type).
I love the top one too! Makes me feel like a mouse!

Love the first one, can’t help but think it’d benefit from a touch more contrast…
Before you worry about contrast, ‘ave a looksee at my shiny new meme. http://blog.rymus.net/2007/07/08/8-more-reasons/ and yes, I dislike spamming people π

I love the second shot… great angle and perfect exposure on everything
I’ve been showing Grace your cats. She demanded a fifth look. That’s about as good a compliment as she can give.
High praise indeed! Thank you Grace π
