Ghostly Road

Taken last Sunday just after noon believe it or not, the fog was really thick and cold and this little corner of Greystones was deserted. Spooky.

Stunning. You’ve a great eye for composition. Fog is brilliant to work with. It sure was foggy at noon Sunday – I was playing tennis through it!

I started experiments with the Nikon last night. One effort is on my blog today.

Hey Claire!

Love your pictures. What kind of camera do you have? Do you just experiment, or have you taken classes?

Marci

Hey Marci 🙂

I have a Canon 10D and a 17-40 zoom lens which I bought about 3 years ago. I did take a night course when I first got it because I had no idea about shutter speeds or apertures or anything other than just pointing and shooting and I wanted to be able to make those choices myself. Since then I’ve just been experimenting and reading books and picking the brains of any other photographers who will let me!

It’s become a bit of an addiction for me.

It’s an addition I hope to have. I love photography but I’m stuck with a digital camera we got about 6 years ago (yikes). One day when we can get a super cool camera, I’d like to make it a hobby. I’ll add that to things I want to do before I’m 40….mabye I should make a list!

Claire, you should go into business. If I were walking by your photo shop, I’d come in and want to buy!

Thank you 🙂

Sarah, I think I still have a lot to learn but I’m not sure I’d want to do photography for a living. It’s a nice thought but I quite like taking the photos I like and not having the pressure of delivering what someone else wants. Never say never though!

Hello Neil 🙂

Actually, they’re not the same ones although they must have all been planted at the same time. There seem to be so many pine trees with leaves only at the very tops around Greystones, it’s kind of strange.

I love the fog picture…..you should sell it…I would buy it……but you have to send it to Pennsylvania (USA)……what kind of camera do you use?

Thanks Angela…or is it Steve 🙂 I use a Canon 10D with a 17-40mm lens. I have other lenses but I almost never use them because I love that one so much.

It was actually me writing and Steve looking over my shoulder….he is trying to make himself a photographer…..but we only have a little digital camera and he has a long way to go to get good……but right now he is a camera whore and is constantly looking at cameras…..I actually found your site from a dressage board (horses) where someone had posted it as a favorite blog site….you are becoming famous…..

Wow, I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve had any links from dressage forums before. Horses and I have an agreement…I love them but they don’t like me very much, so if I don’t get on them they don’t throw me off!

Tell Steve I feel the same way; that I’m trying to make myself a photographer. I understand the looking longingly at cameras, there’s always something cooler to lust after.
