Blogging Photography Portrait A Day

As The Dust Settles

damien

I didn’t take many photos last night…I was far too busy meeting people and chatting. I did manage to snap a couple though and I’ve put them up on Flickr to add to what I’m sure will be loads that other people took of the evening’s events. First of all, the man of the moment, Damien Mulley (sorry I chopped the top of your head off Colm!). I reckon this ought to be my portrait No.28:

Damien
Canon 10D 85mm, f8, 1/8, ISO 400

Smooch
Canon 10D 85mm, f8, 1/8, ISO 400

John McAWilliams:

Kieran Murphy in his chef’s hat:

Having A Laugh

A couple more are over on Flickr. I do want to say I had a great evening and I met most of the bloggers that I wanted to although there were a few that I missed (there always are, there’s just not enough time!). Everyone I spoke to…Rick, Twenty, Fiona, John, Steven, Annette, Dermod, Catriona, Sinéad, Ryan, Redmum, John, Elly, Colm, Owen, Grandad, Grannymar, Lili, Devin, Sam, Sabrina, Una, Aoife, Frank, Fústar…(OK, I’m in trouble now, I’m forgetting loads of people!) Congratulations to all the other winners, you can see the full list at this link. Do check them out because there are some real gems and quite a few of them are personal favourites of mine. Also (because I was so nervous I could barely remember my own name up there on the stage let alone those who I should have been thanking!) thanks to the sponsors of the Photo Blog category, www.pix.ie, without the contribution of the sponsors there’s no way we’d be able to have such a great night every year.

Oh my god its the first image I have seen of myself where I actually seem to be smiling correctly, and fair play for putting that last shot up aswell, great shot.

Well done Claire, so happy you won this award, I think you do a terrific job of blog writing and photography (dunno how you get the time – and I say that as having a blog myself), the award is well-deserved. Sounds like a great day/evening was had by all. I’d better get serious about attending next year.

Cheers.

It was a great to meet you all, thanks for the congrats and the comments. Davy, you’ll have to come along next year, it’s well worth the trip.

Hi Claire

I sent you an email about the issuu publication I am putting together on the blog awards. Just wondered did you get the email? I have prepared a second example of the publication which you can see at the link below. If you didn’t get the email can you let me know and I will send it again.

Thanks

Alan

Hi Alan,

I did get it! I’m sorry I just don’t have access to my regular email until this evening. The publication looks great, I’ll definitely answer your questions when I’m back at my desk tonight. I hope that’s not leaving it too late?

Thats grand Claire, yeah, plenty of time. In my haste sending the emails I should have given a timeframe + not made it sound like a demand. I think I could have worded that email better!

Alan
